Philanthropy and Just Transition Conference

____

On November 5, 2024, the ESSEC Philanthropy Chair and the Fondation de France co-hosted a major conference at the Académie du Climat on the theme

How can philanthropy help address the environment and just transition challenges?

We were delighted to listen to Professor Michael Obersteiner on this topic, and to exchange views with the round-table panellists - Joséphine von Mitschke-Collande, Stephanie Clément-Grandcourt and Edouard Morena.

The conference was organized to celebrate the launch of a major study on philanthropy in the face of environmental challenges, co-directed by researcher Anne Monier and the Fondation de France Observatory team. The study is also part of a wider research project that Anne Monier is currently conducting on the subject. Anne Monier and Kristy Romain gave us an overview of the study.

Find out more about this study at the bottom of the page: it is crucial to read it, in order to understand the urgency of thinking about environmental issues in a systemic way, and to start working better together for a just transition.

We are pleased to share with you the study jointly conducted by researcher Anne Monier and the Fondation de France Observatory team:
