Philanthropy and climate

There is little research on climate philanthropy. This new project, which began in late 2020, aims to understand in which ways the European philanthropic sector (individuals and foundations) is committed to fight against climate change, focusing on foundation coalitions. 

How do philanthropic actors become aware of, perceive and feel the issue of climate change ? How do they consider possible solutions and implement their transition, individually and collectively ? How do they mobilise themselves and others for the climate and what are the consequences of this mobilisation ? 

This interdisciplinary project is at the crossroads of three disciplines: sociology, political science and anthropology.
