Anne MONIER

Anne Monier is a Research Fellow at the ESSEC Philanthropy Chair since September 2020.

She is an alumna of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS 2005), agrégée and holds a PhD in social sciences from EHESS (2016).


Her dissertation was published in September 2019 at the Presses Universitaires de France (Nos chers Amis Américains. Une enquête sur la philanthropie transnationale). She has also published several scientific articles and book chapters, notably in the Socio-Economic Review.


She was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, Harvard University and New York University.

Her interdisciplinary work focuses on transnational philanthropy, elite philanthropy, cultural philanthropy, and public-private relations. She is currently developing projects on "Philanthropy and Climate" and "Meaningful and Meaningless Work in Philanthropic Organizations".
